For months, we have had ups and downs over my husband's betrayal. I never quite believe anything he says and we try to move on. I know something is going on still but I can't prove it. Then my fears are brought to the forefront. My husband has gone to Vegas for a regular trip for the World Series of Poker. It's his girlfriend's birthday apparently and she is in a big fight with her husband. She leaves him (at my husband's instruction) and goes to a hotel waiting on him to return from his trip. All kind of panic calls come from her husband to me trying to get whatever information I can gather on the whereabouts of his wife. My husband is denying any responsibility for her disappearance and won't come home or prove where he is (I think he came back early and spent some time alone with her). I'm really upset because I don't know what's really going on. How can he continue to do this to us? He finally comes home 4 days later. We fight and he has an excuse to leave the house. He goes off to stay with this woman! He puts us through so much pain. I'm crying, I'm angry, and I don't know what is going to happen. While he is away, I go to my oncologist for my yearly visit. I'm just sure the stress is going to bring on another bout with cancer. All I can think of is I will have cancer again and be all alone. My daughter will be raised by this whore and her father will abandon her, too. Luckily, I don't have cancer.
During his time away, he is supposed to deliver a speech to my daughter's school about drugs. My daughter and I go and support him. For thanks, he meets us in the parking lot afterwards and gives me a few hundred dollars. He doesn't have time to have a coffee with us. Has to get back to the girlfriend. I'm supposed to be patient with this and just let him sew his wild oats. Hope he will find it in his heart to come back to his home and take care of his family.
It's getting close to father's day and I write him an email saying that he should make some plans to spend it with his daughter and that I won't interfere. We text back and forth about it and all of a sudden, he is coming home. I'm not all that thrilled at this point about it but he comes home. Very cold reception and he sleeps upstairs.
Lots of back and forth fighing and then several weeks later (around the first part of July) she calls again! We have been out for a movie and dinner. I pour my heart out to him and he seems very sad that I am so hurt. We get home and relax and all of a sudden he comes out of the den and says he has to go help a client (her). She's having another fight with her husband and has been left near our home so he has to go rescue her. Good grief.
He doesn't come home until the next day even though I am texting him constantly and telling him that I know what is going on. Lots of drama with the husband. He comes over and we talk and compare notes. Interesting to meet him and get an idea of what she is like. He comes home several days later. They apparently fight alot, too. She wasn't feeling well. She has fibromyalgia. There is a god.
